I had the choice when I began to be solely content, or to be my own webmistress as well. So I taught myself HTML and took care of that, too, because I like to have the ability to portray my image the way I want it to be portrayed.
Yes, I am content AND webmaster. And no, I don't do it to sleep with people. There is only one man on my site. Wild guess who he is.
Yes, I've had problems in dealing with people. When they find out I produce my own content, their eyes cloud over and they start looking for my handler. So I try not to tell them unless it comes up. I prefer to be a webmaster first, at least when I'm trying to talk to most of the non-amateurs in this business.
BUT my site began because of my desire to BE content. The webmastering came after, out of my desire for control. So chew on that.
