Insurance on exotic cars is not as much as people think (for people over 25 with good or decent driving records). I own a 360 Modena and pay almost $4500/year. A couple of years ago I had a 355 Spider and paid under $3k per year. My driving record was great before I got the 355 and decent when I got the 360. I've only gotten 1 ticket in either and it was in the 355 (careless driving).

As for Lamborghinis, I just don't trust them, especially the one posted to start this topic. If I were to get a Diablo, it would only be a 2001 6.0, which Audi had influence in building. Their quality is getting better now that Audi bought them, but I still hear horror stories about them having way too many problems.
