Coffin causes motorway closure
A hearse which overturned on a German motorway caused traffic chaos when the coffin it was carrying split open and the body fell onto the road.
The driver of the hearse crashed the vehicle after falling asleep on the A40 motorway just before Venlo.
As well as the corpse, a bag of coffin nails also spilled out into the motorway, covering an area of about 50 metres.
Local police said the 50-year-old driver, who suffered slight injuries, had been transporting the body to a morgue in Wuerzburg and not to a funeral.
The motorway was closed for about an hour after the accident, causing a six kilometre traffic jam, reported German magazine Spiegel.
