becoming a "special interest"

You always hear this talk about "special interests" and it got me doing some research on political fundraising.

Not sure if many of you know this, but if you help raise $100k for a presidential candidate, you can get direct access to them.

This works for everyone from the Dem candidates to GWB. You could raise $100-$1000 per person, but if you get $100k total, you can represent your group of donors in pushing your agenda straight to the candidate.

It's even less for a member of congress or the senate.

Why doesn't this biz jump on the train? Get our concerns up front with a person who can have some real influence?

Better yet: Why not do this with W, then before the election next November, leak to the media that he took $100k+ from the porn business?

That might be the most effective means of ensuring our survival.
