I'm with you man. I would much rather work with a existing group, but if they cannot use OUR money to address OUR issues, what's the use? Shit, all we really even need at this point is attorney's opinions. If one firm wants $25 a piece to make and mail off replies to this letter back to Acacia, anything is better than ignoring the letter. Imagine if Acacia got swamped with 500 letters from free site webmasters saying "NO, we are not violating your patent. We will not sign a license agreement." We need a attorney to address our specific situation and recomend and coordinate action. I do not want to challenge this patent. I want to challenge them saying I am violating it. Class action suit against Acacia for harrasment and extortion? Why not? If anything that would give us more breathing room and time to get better organized and see if any other lawsuits come thru. I'm not a attorney but I would say we should file a class action lawsuit for extortion. Put them on the defensive. If we lost it would not hurt any other pending lawsuits. It would just mean that their letter is not extortion.
