1. if I were an independant business owner, and not incorporated, I think I could sue anybody for anything about my business. Maybe I might go down to the courthouse and file a pro se lawsuit against acacia for extortion
this is kinda the angle I was going to look into.. Personally I take this letter as a threat, and I belive this was the intent of this letter. Acacia did not tell me which websites of mine are in violation of their claimed patents, for all I know they just got my name off a list and are trying to scare me into paying them money.

Legal definition of extortion:

A person obtained property from the alleged victim; the property was obtained with consent of the alleged victim; the alleged victim's consent was induced by the wrongful use of force or fear; and the person who used the force or fear did so with the specific intent to induce the alleged victim to consent to the giving up of their property.

Acacia is trying to force me to sign an agreement which I belive could cause myself and my new business financial harm. Acacia is using a specific date in an atempt to scare me into settleing with them "or else" with the implied failure meaning they will not licence me or I will have to pay higher fees.

I currently belive I do not fall under their precived patents and am being forced to sign an agreement without the chance to seek legal councel in the couirt of law. With the "Implied" threats that Acacia can choose whom they license and at what price. IMO The "Implied" means If taken to court they will not later license me or my company or will charge and extreem fee to do so as punisment for seeking legal action.
