Perhaps I'm reading this wrong, but from what I can tell, Walmart had ZERO responsibility regarding this as they hired a contractor for the cleaning.

If I hire Molly Maids to clean my house, I'm not legally responsible for checking I-9's of THEIR employees.

Not to mention, at least where I live, WM pays their employees more than the unionized grocery workers make and WM provides more benefits. Ditto with non-unionized Publix in Atlanta.
