as an x freelancer back in the old days here is what i learned:
Tip 1: when i was freelance all creatives were .jpgs not html with a big ass "SAMPLE" on the cover.
Tip 2: Set approval standards from the start...for example price includes 3 revisions afterwhich each additional is x dollars. They saw your portfolio this is NOT another test.
Tip3: Scope creep is a bitch.....clearly state what you will do for the money down to the dollar. Every thing extra is billable.

Tip3: Get half payment UP FRONT with half due BEFORE release of final product.
Tip4: Work hard, provide a good product for a fair price and word of mouth will be your best friend.
