i dont play many console games anymore. I get a shit load of free ps2, and xbox games sent to me all the time.. I perfer 3rd person or first person type of games on the PC the way you can use the mouse for mouse look and movment is much smoother to me. Granted a game like halo got me and my buddy playing co-op till we finished it, but when the pc version came out you can deff see that the movment is much smoother with a mouse and keyboard..
maybe its just me, some people cant get used to a mouse/keyboard system.
anyhow, XBOX is one of the best media players out there.. ie you need to hack your xbox.. what I have done is modded my xbox with a chip then replaced the internal hard drive with a 80 gigger i had. XBMP (Xbox Media Player) is a homebrewed app its similar to the XP media center but alot better. you can set it up to put the media files on your pc if you have a network and mount the PC drives on your xbox, so you can stream the media to your xbox and play it back on your tv etc.. it plays almost any format..
if your tired of hooking up a pc to your big screen or av system this is the best and only alterantive belive me i have searched far as wide for a good solution.

and there is nothign like Mame Arcade emulator, i have over 1800 old arcade roms , its awesome playing the old classics on my big screen
