Try to simply overwrite the new dbx and mbx files with the old ones (I did that lots of times BUT with the same version of outlook and windows, never with different OS).
Go to tools/options/maintenance, and click on the "store folder" button, see where the current files are, go there and paste the files from your backup cd into that folder, over the existing files.
Worked for me, but if you get into some troubles don't blame me
