Tonight's episode was weak all around (intro, skits, update, live act). They resorted to doing a bunch of fake commercials, even in skit form, which were highly derivative. Berry was wasted, and Spears looked foolish trying to sing her last song (the first was a standard dance/lip-sync nonsense). They even repeated the exact same black-girl jokes from the Jack Black episode. Everyone keeps waiting for Horatio Sanz to kick it up and take the lead, but he has stalled out. Tina Fey is about the only one who makes me occasionally laugh.
SNL has always gone in waves.
