yeah, i bought a new phone recently. i actually bought a color screen model, only because it has the newer, better signal system, otherwise i would have just stuck with a regular b&w screen. i really don't need fancy wallpapers and games for my phone. i switched mine to the calendar, just because it's more useful.
i think the camera phones are kinda dumb. if you need a camera that bad, carry an elf. not like it's that big, and the quality is exponentially better.
