It goes even FAR deeper than that, but the police will deal with that when the time comes, as he is currently under investigation from SEVERAL agencies that I'm personally aware of.
Don't ruin your cause by associating prematurely with the "wrong" people. Having him as a champion for your cause will not forward it, and may indeed hurt it.
