Boot up and go into Setup (CMOS) and make sure the settings are right in there first. I can't remember which submenu line those settings are under but they are easy to find. Left hand column under one of those lines is all I remember right now. lol

Make sure the cd is set to slave and in the secondary HD plugin on the Mother board also unless you only have one HD... but double check the HD and cd to see they are jumpered right if you onlly have one of each. If you have two HD's then the cd has GOT to be in that secondary plug on most systems.

You can't just plop HDs in a system from another usually... the mothers have different checksums etc and they rarely match from chip to chip.

Best way is to boot from a floppy boot disk tho. If you have to, put the two systems side by side and stretch the power cables from the good PS to the motherboard in the old system to get it up, you can also stretch the HD cables to the HDs the same way. Kind of a tight fit but we used to do it all the time so it CAN be done. ;-)
