My mom works for child support, more than 70% of the time, the kids aren't seeing any of the money, or even worse the other parent figures they can live off child support alone so they don't get real jobs and the kids suffer living in poverty. If the dad is willing to spend the time and money on his kids without the government forcing him to, i think it will ultimately benefit the kids more than child support.
