well ccbill is still in number position for us and doing OK, but with re: to conversions i have this thought.
i own about a dozen tgp sites and get about 3000 submissions per day so i have a good "feel" for what the surfer sees re: affiliate programs.
i would say that close to 80% of the content i'm seeing is VERY similar across the board.
the market seems heavily saturated in the areas of facial cumshot sfuff and run-of-the-mill hardcore, most of it of mediocre quality, and some of it of very good technical quality.
the market is very heavy in what i would call "degrading" themes---sure this kind of stuff will sell to guys that never got laid in high school, and might have a chip on their shoulder against women, but for normal guys this stuff does not sell.
there is very little innovation, and it looks like most all of the content producers read the same book on "how to produce content". it is a no-brainer to go to bestbuy and buy a dv cam and then go to the corner and give a gal a couple hundred to shoot a POV facial video. the first time the surfer sees this it is fun, and he might get out the CC---after 1000 times it does not produce an economic transaction.
of course there are people that can shoot inventive facial content, i.e. <wifeysworld.com>, etc. but that is a rarity.
what the surfer is looking for now is quality original content. the affiliiate business model is going to get very tough when 100's of guys are pushing the same content. the sophisticated surfer understands that when he buys a $40/month recurring membership he's paid a premium for the marketing.
