I never could get mine to "talk" to the satellite box. Changing channels through TiVo was absurdly slow and I had to manually change a channel for recording. Thankfully the modem blew out in a storm so I had an excuse to buy the one that's integrated with DirecTV! MUCH BETTER!

Plus it downloads off the sat dish and since the TiVo numbers are all long distance for me, and I can't place the call with a calling card, it's saving me about $20 a month. AND DirecTV doesn't charge for it - saving me ANOTHER $12 a month!

TiVo's are THE greatest thing since the microwave. You never have to watch a commercial, you can do the season pass thing, search for movies/shows by name, etc.

I LOVE TiVo!!!
