Don 't listen to anti SpamCop rhetoric here. It will almost originate from a Spammer or someone who profits from spam, or simply someone who doesn't understand the problem. I have personally been spammed by several on this board who always
about how they are only using the clean optin lists and are being persecuted by Spamcop and other block lists.
It is pure bullshit. Spammers lie.... Never try to communicate with them directly or use the remove links unless you want even more spam from all their buddies.
Spamcop has clout because based on experience and history
their information is fairly accurate. No one has to use it or listen to anything they have to say. ISP and Webhosts do listen because it is an effective weapon against the ton of UNWANTED UCE forced into our mailboxes.
Don't believe that you can't make a difference and make life difficult for these guys. I had a spammer's website shut down within 12 hours after a LART to Webair hosting. Their abuse department actually follows through on spam complaints. Several other big web hosts that advertise heavily on this board partner up with the spammers and will ignore all complaints.
Another good place to report spammers and get them on the radar in in google groups(net abuse sitings)
