Alot of newbies wont go to ANY other boards or resource centers, so i figured id drop it here.

i mean, this is a webmaster board right? why not try to help someone now and then?

well i don't know this guy lil2rich4u2, but my hat is off to him for reminding me to do this last week on all my domains.

and looks like i picked up about 5% of traffic, mostly from deliberate hack attempts.

and then i went around to some "well-known" high traffic sites run by people i consider to be sharpies, to see if they were redirecting their 404 traffic.

and i was surprised how many were not, just letting their 404s go to dead pages.

danni.com/dfajk4 yes, redirecting, good.
alsscan.com/sdfdfa dead page
webvirgins.com/sdfjadsl dead page
thewetlands.com/sdfjfla3 dead page

point is, you don't need to be a newbie to be reminded to use a good tip.

thanks lil2rich4u2 !
