If some dumb bitch gets herself knocked up because she wasn't smart enough to wrap it, in MY perfect world she'd be forced to HAVE the baby, then give it up to a family that couldn't have children of their own and really wanted one. I disagree with abortion as a form of birth control, but I can't TOTALLY diasagree with abortion. What about aborting an etopic pregnancy (a tubal pregnancy). It's a pregnancy that WILL KILL both mother AND CHILD WITHOUT FAIL. Is she a murderer if she has an abortion in that case? What about a young girl (12-13 years old) who gets pregnant from brutal rape? Is she supposed to go through pregnancy and birth to a child who is the product of brutality? Or incest (where the child has good potential for retardation or other physical problems?). Honestly, I think it's very situational. Imagine being a woman in the positions I've mentioned here (or a child, for that matter) and then tell me that you would never have an abortion.
I agree with LadyM 100%

I believe it's all a matter of special situations. Abortion should be an option for rape and incest victims, pregnancies that could result in death, when detected early on etc.

LadyM is right. In this day in age, its sheer laziness and stupidity to not prevent an unwanted pregnancy. I don't think abortion should be a casual substitute to "making a mistake". It's true, some people should not have children and raise them, when they are mentally, emotionally and financially unready. They should do the right thing, face the consequences of their careless actions, bring the pregnancy to full term and give that child up for adoption. So many infertile couples out there, that would do just about anything to adopt. People say "I could never give my baby away after seeing it" ...Yeah so killing it will weigh much less on your conscience. That makes a lot of sense!

There are countless birth control methods out there now, including abstinence. I'm not saying, consenting adults should not have sex... but come on. If you don't know sex could result in pregnancy, then you shouldn't do it. That's why there's laws in place for the age of consent, to make sure people fully understand the consequences. If you can make the decision to have sex, then you must be accountable for your actions. Not all children given up for adoption, are put into the system and passed around from foster home to another. You hear more about cases like this, because it's not as common for it to happen. You rarely hear about all the good adoption stories.

If you aren't ready for a child, never want them or simply don't plan on being with the person you are having sex with, long term... then simply prevent it. You wouldn't want to contract a long term STD, why would you want to contract a long term responsibility of another life? Sure accidents do happen, but it's both man and woman's job to take responsibility as far as birth control.

And for all you people that don't believe there's a God or a soul... don't celebrate Christmas or Easter
