1. Cash's wife was already gone. so he got to join her, so to speak. Ritter's wife stll lives, and he had a daughter that turned 5 the day he died. Now she doesn't have a daddy anymore. 
2. Cash was 71, so it wasn't as much of a shock. Ritter was only 55. It didn't seem like it should be his time to go, yet.
I'm not making light of Cash's passing. God knows my grandmother would kill me if I did. I'm just saying that Ritter's passing was more surprising.
Both will be missed heavily.

No doubt. I guess it's the fact that he won't be here to make more great music that gets me depressed. Hopefully a lot of his unreleased recordings will come along soon.
I mourned the loss of Tupac and Kurt Cobain for years. (I know, a real mish-mash of musical genres there, but what can I say... I like a lot of different types of music).
