www.dianadennis.com) is awsome, you will need to have a diet made for you that fits your goals, then work out with the trainer on a regular basis. You can do it on your own, but without the diet you wont get anywhere.
I know a few things about lifting, at 16, I was ranked in the top 5 powerlifters in the nation (for my gender and age group), I have set 3 state records in powerlifting, I won the 1999 silver state natural bodybuilding competition plus alot fo other stuff. Get a good diet, thats the key, you need your weight taken, bodyfat percentage and height, then he/she can tell you how much protein and carbs you need to be taking in to accomplish your goals.
