Fort Lauderdale might be cheesy, but Boca is pretentious. Don't let it rain there, ya might drown. I'd rather be cheesy than snobby.
Overall, South Florida sucks...except for those who like rude, obnoxious people (and don't expect them to speak English in Miami, and moving north), a high cost of living, low salaries, not to mention FAKE people who will be your friend to your face and stab you in the back the minute you're not right in front of them.
Other than those things, Florida is great.
