This is an interesting question. I remember when I got started out it seemed like not too many people were willing to help out. The ones who did help out haven't been forgotten.
Depending on the size of the company, effort is being put in the direction that will bring the most results. How much time and effort is a sales rep supposed to put in to someone who will make them less than $20 a month? Sales reps don't have time to be teaching someone new how to build webpages and how to submit galleries.
We have a pretty good solution for this problem - Her name is Louisa. She handles all of our webmasters, and she's a smart cookie too. At the same time most everyone in the company, including Tanker, Lightspeed, Zebra, and myself - back her up and are always willing to help out.
If your not getting the support you need from a certain company, replace them. It's that easy.
