So I am checking out this website for volunteering some of my time because I've been saying I was going to volunteer for years, and I keep hearing them bitch on the radio that not enough people volunteer..

Well I understand why now..

I was interested in this one program of dealing with old people an animals and stuff, then I see the requirements and I closed my browser.

-4 hours a week, minimum 1 year committment
-5 days of classroom sensitivity training (3 hours a day)
-must pay all expenses, I.e Parking/Busing
-Police background checks (our expense)
-2 Interviews

How ridiculous is that? No wonder they bitch about people not wanting to volunteer, too many hoops they make people jump through. You dont even get PAID.
