You can spend $1 billion on a domain name if you want, as long as you either have the money to fund it yourself or, if you’re relying on investors, a proven track record of building successful projects.
The OP seems like a good guy, but the issue isn’t the domain purchase. It’s his history of abandoning projects, constantly changing direction, and leaving ideas undeveloped. That’s the track record people are looking at.
