i've been following the guy since long before he released openclaw and became famous. his personal blog is quite interesting read although he's stopped posting few months ago...
so the guy builds pspdfkit, sells it for 100m EUR and retires in his early thirties. few years go by and then he gets introduced to claude code (early on, during the research preview phase)... what does he do? instead of dismissing it or spreading FUD he's like 'oh, i can build 45 projects simultaneously now and not type any boilerplate? this is awesome!'... comes back from retirement, builds literally 40+ projects one of which has exploded in popularity (openclaw), attended a few podcasts, acquisition / job offers from top tech companies started coming in... he's at openai now and openclaw stays opensource.
is Steinberger the best import from Austria since Arnold?
"my hands are too precious to type code now"
"you can't compete with someone who's in it just for fun"
the guy is a character, i tell ya
