and the problem with what you are saying is that since 1980 and this "advice" obesity, heart disease, cancer, dementias, diabetes and countless other chronic diseases skyrocketed across the globe.
you're not supposed to be fat. you're supposed to be lean and muscular. every person is supposed to be a "fit person".... but aren't.
furthermore, athletes develop diabetes and heart disease and cancers and dementias all the time after decades of "carb loading" and eating high carb diets. aging distance runners for example start gaining fat and often type 2 diabetes as insulin resistance catches up to them. its very common.
