he thought he'd got rich, a clever man
with cash in hand and uneducated plan
then bought a vault, a dusty prize
the legacy of a man's demise
he popped the locks with eager hand
prepared to launch anew the brand
he saw the titles, read the names
'pon action discovered dreams of fortune wane
the scenes within, a sordid mess
left nothing but ugliness
he didn't care, but the market let him know
processing and promo shut slid with no where to go
performers at mercy, their eyes far away
lost in dreams long gone astray
the man who shot it, never thought to think twice
lost in it with them, and it sold; a hot vice
that man is gone, no need to disparage
t'was what it was, set down the carriage
alas though sad hopes, by lack of due dil
man bought a morass
ghosts of real people on every reel
now an owner of a toxic stock
had he one a soul-destroying rock
thought he'd got rich, and such a joke
clever plan so woefully broke
sits and stares at the baneful mess
makes AI slop to distract from his self-induced distress
(yes this is a messy poem, most of my stuff isn't single stanza format. most of my fav stuff to read breaks rules too cuz it's in the cadence. just thought this would be the best way to convey my thoughts on all that)
