There are so many options now in the AV market and prices are dropping.
I don't get why you would want to invest in this right now.

I understand your point about profitability and timelines.
The platform currently has no revenue simply because it has only recently been deployed. The development phase alone took more than eight months of programming and resulted in over 250,000 lines of code across the platform.
This is not just a small verification widget. The project includes a full infrastructure stack: the AgeVerifica SaaS platform, a customer portal, admin and owner control panels, hosted verification flows and API infrastructure, age gates for both websites and mobile applications, jurisdiction-aware policy routing and verification orchestration, SDK integration paths for Android and iOS, and two companion mobile apps prepared for Google Play and the Apple App Store.
In other words, what exists today is essentially a complete verification infrastructure platform rather than a single verification method.
Regarding the market itself, age verification is actually expanding quickly due to new regulations worldwide. Governments are introducing stronger requirements for age-restricted content and online safety.
For example, the global digital identity and verification market is projected to exceed around 40 to 50 billion dollars within the next few years. Age-verification technologies themselves are expected to grow at strong annual rates as more jurisdictions introduce mandatory verification rules.
Regulations such as the UK Online Safety Act, the EU Digital Services Act, and several U.S. state laws are already pushing platforms to implement stronger age verification systems.
Because of this shift, many platforms are moving away from simple age gates toward more structured verification infrastructure. The idea behind AgeVerifica is not to compete with the cheapest verification widgets, but to provide the infrastructure layer that platforms can operate internally when they need to scale verification across websites, apps, or networks.
