Good to hear they got it in time, there's a lot that can go wrong with little or no symptoms.

Until last August I thought PSA stood for Public Service Announcement.

At least up until the day my Dr was looking at my annual blood work and said "uh-oh, well... maybe we caught it in time"
When I asked him what the "uh-oh" was (a sound you NEVER want to hear your Dr make) he said my PSA was very high, he explained it stood for Prostate Specific Antigen and it's a marker for prostate cancer, normal is under 4, mine was 19.1

After a bunch of MRIs and a prostate biopsy (that's a fun time right there) I was told I had a pretty advanced prostate tumor and it had to come out.

So after a few months of drugs to shrink it down a bit they removed my prostate this past Monday, as I'm typing this there's a tube coming out of what's left of my dick and running to a bag full of my piss, I'll never have a natural erection again although they told me I could get an implant that pumps it up (I call it a Frankenweenie).

So if you're over 40 start getting a PSA check every few years, the earlier they catch it the better.

My surgeon thinks they got it all, but for the rest of my life I'll be waiting for it to show up somewhere else
