I see where you are coming from, there was a different culture 20+ years ago and it indeed was fun for people who just made websites, made money and life was a day by day thing.
I think back to certain times when I would load up GFY and other forums, start bullshitting a bit, then connecting with people in the same space as me, feeling that sense of community and belonging. Plus we all made money doing it.
