AVS has actually been beneficial to my clients and you would think it's a hinderance and no one wants to go through the hassle - well - apparently users don't mind it and appreciate that. Maybe it's the idea that if you keep telling someone "no you can't have it" - they want it more... so postponing it with warning signs actually may have the effect of the user saying, "holy shit this stuff must be good if they have this many obstacles in getting to it"

So think about it - you get all the free porn you want - it does get boring after a while and soon as you look at several tubes you find it's mostly the same stuff - suddenly now you're faced with sites saying, "you can't see this until you prove you're a real adult". Suddenly you've gone from content you can see to content you can't see - which can spark curiosity that maybe it's better or much more raunchy that they had to put a warning sign on it and a way to make sure only adults can see it.

Keep in mind this is just my opinion and no scientific facts - but I feel does answer why this is happening
