I was running Windows 11 on a custom PC with an AMD Risen Processor, 64GB of Ram and a GPU card and it was pretty fast. What was really cool is that it asl ran WSL as a Virtual Linux Machine, in Windows, and it was pretty fast.
My main desktop work machine is my Mac, and what I did for a while was access the Windows machine over my network using Windows Desktop for mac. This was ok, but I ended up running Windows 11 as a VM on my Mac instead and converting the old PC into a Linux box.
Regardless, Windows 11 is fast, and I'm not even a Windows fan anymore. If its crawling on your machine, do some digging. Try ChatGPT, tell it what your configuration is especially the motherboard type, and it will recomend some changes for you that should improve the performance.
Good luck!
