thanks for the well wishes Mark, Nat and Emma, I'm all good. the luxury of affording a place paid for with US dollaz
a few days after still reeling at all that has needed to be done, and so much more to be done. no workouts cuz hours each day wheeling barrows of rubble and nailing up new walls and still 3 fams in my home with no where to go
they are being SO awesome. I would wither and die without human contact but also need alone time and they are giving me that, even if just 30 mins at a time to not talk/interact a few times a day more than enough
really hard the first couple days after to maintain composure trudging up hills of mud to find out what homes still stood. then standing there watching people fall apart at losing everything. don't cry in front of people but did a lot of it in the shower
so many food animals died too, their shelters destroyed. so fucking hard to hold back tears watching other people in grief at losing so much
and that's up on the north coast
the hardest has been watching footage come in from the south coast (St Liz was destroyed)
Jamaicans are strong as a culture, one of my fav things about here. but our beautiful land has been knocked for a loop
the situ is St Elizabeth is dire, that parish (the equivalent of a province or state for NA'er context) provides much of the local food here. without that, reliance on imports which low income peeps can't afford at the best of times
if anyone wants to donate even $10-$20 to legit immediate assistance gonna spam some stuff below

they are heavily concentrating on St Elizabeth which got hit the worst. again, no bureaucracy bloat, minimal overhead. 100% legit
one love and hope everyone is having an amazing day
