Robbing Johns in my hometown is a super common thing and the stigma keeps the reporting low. One of my best hipster buddies got a 40k bonus at work and he lost his mind for like 2 weeks on coke and hookers having so much fun like he won the NHL playoffs or something. Anyways, he hired another hooker one night and this chick dosed his drink, and when he woke up, his entire condo was looted, passport gone, laptop gone, bank account hacked and drained, thousands in cash missing, 20+ hours missing due to blackout, then he went to the hospital for blinding headaches and his bloodpressure was dangerously high, and his bloodwork came back with so many different drugs in his system. It was a long time ago, I don't remember all the details, but he was fucked up and she cleaned out his bank account and condo of anything of value while he was unconscious.
My time hanging out with a wide range of people, I even met a chick who confessed to me that she had robbed guys before and how easy it was. As far as risk goes, it is one of the easiest robberies and scams to pull off, because rich old guys cheating on their wives are such a juicy target, or even just lonely guys with nice condos and dumb enough to flash cash... neither of which are likely to go to the police because the shame is worse than the robbery.
