It was actually foreseeable that manufacturers and retailers of goods would raise prices
in all directions, regardless of whether they produce in the USA or not or are affected
by the tariffs or not.
In the case of Lavazza, I would say that only a portion of the actual tariff increases
were passed on to US customers, and the rest was balanced out via other world markets.
I wouldn't be surprised if even companies that produce in the US raise their prices slightly.
Their foreign competitors are forced to do so anyway.
As a US company, I certainly wouldn't give away that profit margin.
Why would Ford give away a car for $50,000 when Mercedes has to offer it for $70,000?
