If there is no conflict with plugins then it's an easy process to update to 8.4. On a per site basis the speed benefits are minimal, but if you update everything on your server to 8.4 and get rid of the 7.4 FPM altogether you may see some benefits.
I have a dual setup with 8.4 for the new sites and a 7.4 environment so the Roboscripts will still run.
