according to the article the suspect was arrested a few days later. he's accused of being part of a motorcycle stealing ring in the area where Chris got killed, and the cops allege that he also committed another random killing a few days earlier
would guess (obvs just a guess) that he was targeted cuz he was out alone, easier to pull a gun on one person than a group of friends

Still makes you wonder about making dumb choices in being alone at that time of night either you got balls or were willing to risk danger to get what you want.
