Germany had huge problems before Hitler took control.. people used to paper their walls with d-mark instead of using real wallpaper, as the wallpaper were worht more than the money.
Not that strange that people vote on the one who promise to get them back on their feets... and it's not that strange that they trust him after that he has accomplished what he promised to do.
