There was and still is an incredible fascination about this man. That's for sure. Probably no other man in history had more charisma that Hitler. I had to study WWII...
Hitler just wanted to be the most powerful leader of all time. He killed everbody who didn't follow him. First peple believed in him because after WWI and the folowing democratic republic (Weimarer Republik) failed, he was the man who promised better times. People were dascinated by his power and plitical goals. Nobody knew that he was a crazy fuck who believed that the Aryan race is the "Ubermensch".
And as the germans realized that their leader is a very dangerous man, it was too late. Those who didn't follow him got executed.
Hitler was brilliant? Hitler was pure evil.
He not just destroyed other countries, he also destroyed our country. The jewish people were our people. They belonged to our society, they were an important parft of our culture. The most brilliant germans were jewish germans.
And today we have no culture anymore and we even have no cities anymore. Most cities were destroyed and look terrible today. Cologne, Hamburg, Dresden, etc, etc.
And we still have to pay the so called "Reparationen".
Hitler was brilliant? Hitler was a natural disaster.

btw.: today Germany is just like the USA. We have your food, your music, your movies, etc. And I like that
But when it comes to patriotism or when our politicians discuss about war, we are very different. If you know the german history in detail and understand what has happened here, you will understand our position...
Oh, one thing that really bothers me is that we don't have "Denny's" here. Damn!
