Oh, that 2 part episode " Year Of Hell " from the Star Trek Voyager series was AWESOME.
Voyager had some kick ass 2 parters.
Here's where people hate me, but at first I couldn't wait for Neelix to get killed. But after a while, I came to realize the acting was so solid it made him more real than the other characters. He wasn't a coward but just a guy trying to survive in a nasty universe.
There was another 2 parter where they went back to present day to stop a computer geek who had stolen technology from the 30th century. Real cool!
I really liked the cast of voyager. Met them at conventions. You'ld be suprised how talented they really are. Many are musicians.
Jennifer Lein who played Kez was at one convention. Her voice is soooo beautiful that Garret Wang had to give her the floor. Garret Wang is one brilliant man. Super talented and plays a great heavy when given the chance.
As for DS9. Same with Quark. I couldn't wait for someone to bump him off but after he grew on me I realized he was the wiser of the group because he knew how dangerous space was and when the chips were down he came through. The Dominion and the Founders were eerie and the Cardassians were far more developed than I had imagined for a series. There was one episode that sent chills up our spines when Kira argued with a Cardassian leader who had been a concentration camp commander. She bitched at him about how could he justify mass murder and without batting an eye he just says in a no-bullshit voice:
" What you call genocide, I called a day's work. "
That's when I realized this wasn't any ordinary series and the writers and staff finally could get down and dirty. DS9 was a boxing match with the universe. Voyager was a streetfight. TNG was more of a debating team and Star Trek TOS was a barroom brawl.
Enterprise, so far will have to catch up.
