Yes, you can call him evil, etc but stupid? I don't know. He turned a wrecked nation into the largest military power in the world. Even better, were that the economics which enabled such success were generally his own.
Anyone (whether they are evil or not) who can turn a nation that is wrecked from war, and unemployment, into a world superpower - a superpower that would nearly go on to conquer the world ? in such a short time surely is no idiot.
