This is not a good thing.

I realize it looks cute and cuddly but it won't treat you or your property with much respect if it smells something it really wants because it wants to eat.

I suspect your neighbors have probably unintentionally trained the bear to come to a grill for a free handout.

Yep- thinking the EXACT same thing. We have a ton of them here in Fl, and I have NEVER heard of a positive bear/human interaction. My advice- get a dog, bears hate them, and the barking will make him so uncomfortable he' won't come back.
