I've been to dpreview.com and can't really find the comparison I am looking for... so if anyone has a good camera for general purpose use then I am all ears.

Right now I am thinking of getting the $600usd Pentax 550. 5x optical and capable of over 30 minutes of video with a 512 card for another $225usd.
