From my own personal experience, running is the best form of cardio to burn fat.
My neck, chest, forearms and calves are extremely vascular (veiny) from pushups, boxing, sprinting and distance running.
I do standing calf raises with the full rack of 295 lbs w/ a 45lb plate on top. I often hear "Oh my God!" when girls see my calves from behind while doing calf raises in the gym, or one my favorites "you never know... you never know" or "he might be a fighter" when other dudes stare in amazement due to the weight I can lift at my lean bodyweight. I'm also the only person I've ever seen do a seated calf raise of five 45lb (20kg) plates or twelve 45 lbs plates (~600 lbs total load) performing deep reverse hack squats in a gym at my bodyweight.
I don't talk to anyone at the gym, but I overhear some of the trainers suspect I am a powerlifter due to my functional strength and I don't train for hypertrophy as bodybuilders do.
What's even funnier is, I often hear people mutter "he skips legs day.. hurr durr" while I'm walking around town. If they only knew every day is leg day for me. I might start busting out a few pistol (one-legged) squats the next time I hear such idiotic remarks and then ask them "which leg now???". Nevertheless, the jealousy and envy keeps me going hard every day. I should start a YouTube channel recording people's reactions in the gym for all you non-believers.
