Don't believe the hype all the time.
Just because chicken little said the sky is falling didn't mean it was.

Jesus Christ!!!
Gotta be more careful about the wording of my posts!!
26 ICQ's later from people wanting to know what I heard about Verotel going down the tubes etc etc etc etc....
WHOOAAA HORSEY!!!!
What I meant is that I spoke with Visa (USA and Europe) and the banks BEFORE we made the move to Verotel, and again in more recent times....
THE NEWS THEN WAS ALL GOOD!
The points I was alluding to are as follows:
- VISA USA never issued a press release (and don't have one!) when the original Visa BS hit in October last. Nore did they in the recent "recent sky is falling" episode.
- Visa Europe are NOT under the same pressures as VISA USA.
- Banking systems in Europe work VERY differently to the USA, fraud systems are more advanced and relationships between banks and credit providers much smoother.
Remember that European banks don't issue credit cards like raffle tickets as they do in US, Australia and others. Any one eber wondered why that is?
Why not think for a minute about WHO gains from the current path in the USA?? Who has the most to gain by tightening controls over our industry? It is not necessarily the same people who will bend over and take their pants down (understandably so I might add!) to protect tens of millions in monthly rebills.
Bear in mind that there are MANY industries (both on and offline) that make chargebacks and the like that we face look like an entry on the positive side of the ledger (i.e. they are MUCH worse!).
Like I said. Hard research people. I'll be buggered if I'm gonna do EVERYONE'S for them.
Just had to stop ICQ bouncing all over my screen
