On a related note, I went to a few shows such as HeavyMontreal (Heavy Metal) and Rockfest (Punk, Heavy Metal, Rap). I was really surprised to see all ages. There were some teens as you might expect, but there were plenty of Dads with their kids, and alot of grey-haired people too. All dancing, All Rocking, All drinking and smoking, and all having a really, really good time.
Some of the Punk acts were groups like Bad Religion, The Offspring, NOFX, Social Distortion, Rancid, and Pennywise - all groups who have been around for at least 20 years. They were excellent. I saw Offspring again last fall and was really pleastently susprised and how good they sounded, and how fucking FAST they could still play.
