There is more research nowadays showing that the appendix is not useless and its needed for early development stuff.
Your canines are short and lame because for thousands of years now, humans have not had to kill animals with their mouths, or rip flesh and muscle off the bone with their mouths. People with small canines were at no survival disadvantage to people with large canines so they could breed just as easily.
Humans did not go from predatory omnivores to pure herbivores.
