New DeLorean
The #DeLorean is back as a 2+2 electric GT called the #EVolved #Alpha5 and in this video I’m going to cover some of the spec and tech of the car and of course we need to see what design details we can find that were inspired by the iconic back to the future DMC-12 by comparing the old and the new in a front, side and rear view.
The body looks extremely slippery with an impressive drag coefficient of 0.23 however not as slippery as the best in the industry which is the Mercedes-Benz EQS with 0.20.
What we know about the performance is that it has a 100+kWh battery pack and multiple electric motors.
0-60 mph is completed in 2.99 seconds and of course the marketing team also included the 0 to 88 mph which is done in 4.35 seconds.
The EVolved Alpha5 can reach a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) and the range is estimated at 300 miles (483 kilometers). Pretty standard numbers in today’s EV world.
The physical DeLorean Alpha5 will be presented on August 18 with production scheduled to start in 2024 in Italy.
Only 88 units however the company says they have more cars scheduled for production down the road.
